He was born in Boston, MA June 23, 1955 to Donald J. and Elizabeth (Wright) Standish. He had been a Manchester resident the past 16 years and a lifelong summer resident of Ogunquit, ME.
He served in the US Air Force from 1974 to 1977.
Don enjoyed working as a Senior CADD Technician with Hoyle, Tanner & Associates. He also did web design for various organizations.
He was an avid woodworker, loved music, cooking, gardening, camping, boating, fishing, aviation, and being involved with Daniel Webster Council Boy Scouts of America at Camp Carpenter.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
Family members include his wife of 20 years, Lynn (Roberts) Standish of Manchester; a son, Ian R. Standish of Manchester; a sister, Jane Standish of Bedford, NH and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life was held on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 961 Valley St., Manchester.
