Doris C. Delude

January 12, 1924 — October 8, 2023

Manchester

Doris C. (Cote) (Bouchard) Delude, 99, of Manchester died peacefully October 8, 2023 with family by her side after a brief illness. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her.

Born in Manchester on January 12, 1924, she was the daughter of Henry and Alexina (Abel) Cote.  She graduated St. Anthony High School in 1941 as valedictorian of her class.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a waitress at both the 88 Restaurant and Chateau Restaurant.

Doris was an avid bowler at Lakeside Lanes up until an illness this past summer.  She loved to read until recently when her eyesight was failing.  She was a great cook and her mashed potatoes were legendary.  She also loved to travel and visited Jerusalem, Aruba, Hawaii, the Caribbean Islands and Florida but never made it to Alaska!  She especially loved to vacation at Hampton and Old Orchard Beach.  Going out to eat was the highlight of her day and all appointments would revolve around lunchtime.  Her independent spirit allowed her to stay in her home until the very end.  She was cared for by her 3 children who made it a point to involve her in all of their adventures.

Devoted to her Catholic Faith, she was a longtime active communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Parish and was a member of the St. Anne’s Sodality.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Leo Bouchard in 1979, her second husband, Lucien Delude in 2013, her son, Roger Bouchard in 2022, as well as her siblings, Robert Cote, Lucille Provencher, Bernice Leroux, and Mildred Poirier.

Family members include her children, Janice (Donald) Gelinas of Hooksett, Priscilla (Phillip) Anderson of Manchester, Norman Bouchard of Manchester; also survived by Lori Bouchard; her grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, Brian, Kathleen, Eric, Adam, Amber, Keith, Austin, Nicholas and Jason; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Muriel Poirier of Manchester; extended family members, Marie (Bill) Martel of Nashua, Denise (Joe) Landers of Plymouth, MA, Lucie (Tim) Lambrou of Manchester, Peter Delude of Concord, Anne Dickinson of New Ipswich; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, will be Sunday from 4 to 7 pm.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 16th at 10 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Belmont St.  Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
