She was born in Manchester on July 29, 1922, the daughter of Donat and Herminie (Samson) Vachon. She was educated in the Manchester school system.
Prior to retirement, Doris had been employed as a jewelry assembler with V.H. Blackington in Attleboro Falls. Since moving to the Manchester area, she had worked at St. Peter's Home.
Family members include her son Arthur Lapointe and wife Laurie of Manchester; her daughter Annette McNamee and husband Joseph of Attleboro, MA; six grandchildren, Stephen Lapointe and wife Sarah, Nathan Lapointe, Keith Lapointe and wife Karen all of Manchester, Nicholas McNamee of Attleboro, Jennifer McNamee Veveiros and husband Michael of South Attleboro, Denise McNamee of Attleboro; two great-granddaughters, Ashlyn and Abigail; two sisters, Rita Vachon and Marie Jeanne Vachon, both of Manchester; many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Maurice and Napoleon Vachon.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester.
