Doris "Marge" (Leidemer) Burns, 70, of Manchester passed away peacefully at her home on October 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
When Marge was born to Lt. Col. Henry and Doris (Carreau) Leidemer at Harmon Air Force Base in Stephenville, Newfoundland, in 1946, she became the first American citizen to be born in the country. She spent her childhood at various Air Force bases in the country. After earning a bachelor's degree in History from New Mexico State University, she went on to teach History and Government at Memorial High School in Manchester for 25 ½ years before retiring in 1996.
Marge was predeceased by her beloved husband Bob, and by sister-in-law, Leslie "Jo" Leidemer. She is survived by two children, Kristen Burns of Woburn, MA, and Brendan Burns of Watertown, MA.; two brothers H. Martin Leidemer, Jr. of Lynch Station, VA, and Glenn Leidemer and his wife Mary of Auburn, NH; and four very special nieces, Catherine Leidemer of Baltimore, MD, Kathleen Mahan of Bedford, NH, Krista Leidemer of Manchester, NH, and Kelly Anderson of Ashburnham, MA; in addition to aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester, NH 03104. Burial will be private.
