Sr. Doris Levesque, (Sr. St. Etienne) 84, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Rd, Manchester, NH, died April 10, 2006, at Catholic Medical Center.
She was born January 26, 1922, in St. Pacome, Canada, and was the daughter of Joseph and Alice Levesque.
She entered the order of the Sisters of Presentation of Mary in 1939, made her first profession in 1942, and her final profession in 1947.
Sister Levesque was a music teacher and choir director in schools in Woonsocket, Coventry, and West Warwick, R.I.; In New Hampshire at Hudson, Manchester, and at Rivier College in Nashua. She composed liturgical music and worked at the Diocesan Office of Worship in Providence, R.I. and also served as Department Secretary at Providence College, Providence, R.I.
She retired in 1998 and was transferred to the St. Joseph Residence in Manchester, NH in 2003.
Family members include a sister, Mrs. Roger (Vivian) Mailhot of West Warwick, R.I.; a niece, grandnephew, grandnieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday April 18, 2006 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial followed in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
