Dorothy M. Humphries

She was born in Lowell, MA on February 9, 1924, the daughter of William and Theresa (Delahanty) Costello. She was a graduate of Lowell High School and attended Hunter College in New York.

During WWII, she served in the US Navy as a communications expert.

Until her retirement, she had been the function coordinator at the Manchester Country Club. Prior to that, she had been a function coordinator at the Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro, MA.

Dorothy had recently spent time each January in Florida and enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe with her son. She loved to read, shop, and spend time with her many wonderful friends.

She was predeceased by her husband George Humphries in 1986 and her sister, Theresa Brennan.

Members of her family include her daughter, Kathleen Manty of Dracut, MA; one son, Buddy Gorman of Boston; one brother, William Costello Jr. and his wife Nancy of Hudson, NH; nephews, nieces, and cousins; She also leaves her long-time friend, Janice Morin of Manchester.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Joseph Cathedral, corner of Pine and Lowell St, on Friday January 19, 2007. Encryptment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
