Dorothy F. LaRochelle

Dorothy F. (Lavoie) LaRochelle, 88, of Manchester died December 7, 2010 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA after a brief illness.

She was born in Manchester on May 21, 1922 to Homer and Ida (Gauthier) Lavoie. She lived in Manchester for most of her life and in Clinton, NY for 16 years.

She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family and friends.

While in Clinton, she volunteered at the BOCES Special Education School as a music teacher, and for the Association of Retarded Children. She later volunteered for the Hillsborough County Nursing Home Guild in Goffstown for many years.

She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

IN HER LIFE: The family includes her husband of 65 years, Renald LaRochelle of Manchester; six children, Paul LaRochelle and his wife, Eleni Blioumi, of Manchester, Patricia Gamache and her husband, Richard, of Goffstown, David LaRochelle and his wife, Melany, of Gettysburg, PA, Marc LaRochelle and his wife, Lisa, of Goffstown, Theresa Bullard and her companion, Daniel Blais, of Hooksett, and John LaRochelle of Pownal, VT; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a sister, Lillian LaRochelle and her husband, Roger, of St. Petersburg, FL; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Delores LaRochelle in 1948.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, December 11, 2010 at St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, Lowell Street, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
