Dorothy E. Mailhot

Dorothy E. Mailhot, 102, of Manchester, died March 9, 2024 with her loving family by her side.

          Born in Manchester on May 14, 1921, she was the daughter of Maurice and Elizabeth (Leblanc) Beliveau.  She attended St. Anthony High School.

          Dorothy had worked at McKay’s Men’s Shop and Granite Street Bakery.

          Dorothy was an active member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality at Sacred Heart and St. Marie Churches.  She enjoyed county music.  Her favorite hobby was listening to country music and at a young age, she attempted to play the guitar and would join her husband at the piano with renditions of Gene Autry and Bing Crosby.  

          She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Leo J. Mailhot in 2002, all of her numerous siblings, her son-in-law, Donald Fitzgerald Sr, and daughters-in-law, Sandra and Jeannette Mailhot.

          The family would like to thank the staff at Hackett Hill Health Care Center, Belair Nursing Home and Easter Seals Adult Day Care Center for their care and support of our mother.

          Family members include her daughters, Elaine R. Fitzgerald of Townsend, MA, Paulette A. Chetney and husband Christopher of Durham, NC; her sons, Leo R. Mailhot Jr of Lyman, ME, Richard Mailhot of Manchester, Ronald Mailhot of Manchester, Normand R. Mailhot and wife Marilyn of VA, and Robert M. Mailhot and wife Cathy of Manchester; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

          Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of  North St, will be Tuesday, March 19th from 4 to 7 pm.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 20th at 10 am in St. Marie Church, Notre Dame Ave.  Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

          Donations may be made in her memory, specifically to the Easter Seals Adult Day Care located at 555 Auburn St, Manchester, NH 03103 or the charity of one’s choice.
