Dorothy M. Trahan

Dorothy M. (St. Pierre) Trahan, 90, of Bedford, died July 4, 2021 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.

She was born in Pawtucket, RI on March 5, 1931 to Pierre and Marie (Gregoire) St. Pierre. She grew up in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada and later lived in South Attleboro, MA for many years before moving to Bedford 42 years ago.

Dorothy worked as a special education teacher aide in the school systems of Manchester, Bedford and Attleboro, MA for many years. She was also an active communicant at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford.

Known to those who loved her as Dorothy, Dot, Dottie, Mrs. T, Mom, Mémère, Mem T and Mo, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting, knitting and, especially, time spent with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Trahan in 2017; a son, Robert L. Trahan, Jr. in 2016 and five siblings, Louis, Marcel, Andre, Therese and Lise.

Dorothy is survived by three children, Monica of Manchester, Margaret (Brousseau) of Attleboro, MA and Gary of Bedford; four grandchildren, Erin Hanson, Henri Brousseau, Rachel Trahan and Joshua Trahan; four great grandchildren, Felicity, Noah, Nessa and Ava; daughter-in-law, Mary J Trahan of Nicholasville, KY, a former son-in-law, George Brousseau of Attleboro, MA; a former daughter-in-law, Tracy Perry of Maitland, FL; two sisters, Pierrette Farley of Bristol, RI and Collette Bora of Pawtucket, RI and many nieces and nephews.

The Trahan family would like to thank everyone involved with Visiting Angels, specifically, Angela, Sarah, Renee and Samantha as well as the wonderful nurses and staff at Catholic Medical Center, E200 Ward.

SERVICES: Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester are Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. followed immediately at 2 p.m. by a funeral ceremony. Private burial will be at New Hampshire State Veterans in Boscawen at the convenience of the family.
