Dr. Alfred W. St. Cyr

   Dr. Alfred W. St Cyr, 90, a longtime resident of Manchester, died January 24, 2023 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown after a period of declining health. 

   He was born in Manchester on September 30, 1932, to Alfred and Alice (Desfosses) St Cyr.

   After serving in the Army, he opened Manchester Conservatory of Music and Al St Cyr Accordion Studios.  He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education at the University of New Hampshire.  He pursued a doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision and graduated summa cum laude from Boston College in 1977 while simultaneously serving as Director of Music education in Manchester, New Hampshire.   He was also a longstanding member of the Queen City Rotary Club. He was appointed to the position of superintendent of schools in Groveton and Raymond, New Hampshire.

   Dr. St Cyr was predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Pauline (Turcotte) St Cyr and he is survived by his four children: Denise St Cyr of Manchester, Claudet Adams (Gerard) of Bedford, Alfred St Cyr (Donna) of Manchester and Robert St Cyr (Dorothy) of Amherst.  He is also survived by five grandchildren: Tyler St Cyr (Michelle Haff), Jonathan St Cyr, Jaclyn Wydra (Paul III), Helen M. St Cyr, Sarah M. St Cyr and one great grandchild, Tyler S. St Cyr II as well as several nieces and nephews.

   SERVICES: Calling hours are Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester NH.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 30, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Avenue, Manchester.  Committal prayers will follow at Mount Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd, Manchester.
