Dr. John Robert Jacobs

Dr. John Robert Jacobs, 68, beloved husband of Melodie (Faucher) (Auger) Jacobs, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester. John was born on March 30, 1957 in Manhattan, NY to the late Dr. Jack and Dr. Kathryn (Gilman) Jacobs.

Dr Jacobs graduated from Harvard University and became an M.D. in psychiatry. Dr. Jacobs had a private practice in psychiatry, located in Manchester. He was loved both by his patients and his colleagues in the medical field.

John enjoyed spending time with his wife, and enjoyed their travels together. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Rory. John was a passionate New York Yankees fan and he and Melodie would watch every game together and attend many in person. John was also very passionate about astronomy, Ufology, and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed going to the symphony and opera with his wife, Melodie. John was loved and will be missed by many.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the exceptional staff at the Elliot Hospital.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughter: Alicia Jacobs Porkka; his step-daughter: Mary-Clare Soares and her husband Philip; his two sisters: Margaret Meuhlbradt and Mary Pressman; his two grandchildren: Rory Matregrano, Ruth Leslie Porkka; and his three nephews and one niece: Michael Muelbradt, Eric Muehlbradt, Leif Pressman, Ruby Pressman.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street in Manchesterfrom 4pm to 6pm. There will be no burial at this time.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN
