Edna V. Fairhurst

Born in Manchester on September 5, 1921, she was the daughter of Hippolyte and Julia (Shiney) Douville. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar school and West High School.

Prior to retirement, she had worked in sales in Manchester.

Edna enjoyed cooking and will be remembered for her famous fig squares. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the Easter Seals in Manchester and above all else, cherished time spent with family.

She was predeceased by her husband Alfred C. Fairhurst. She was also predeceased by her brothers Francis, Kenneth, Henry, Eugene, and Raymond Douville as well as one sister Lillian White.

Family members include two sons, Alfred C. Fairhurst and wife Pamela of Agawam, MA, Edward J. Fairhurst and wife Donna of Mount Pleasant, SC; one daughter, Charlene Fairhurst of Manchester; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, William Douville of Bedford;

A funeral service was held on Friday, October 10, 2014 in the Shaw Memorial Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St, Bedford.
