Edouard L. Forcier Jr., 87, of Manchester, died October 9, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Manchester, March 15, 1917, he was the son of Edouard and Sophie (Soucy) Forcier Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Pinardville.
He served in the US Army Medical Corps during World War II.
Mr. Forcier retired from Cote's Bakery where he worked for 26 years.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, formerly of St. Edmond parish and now Post 1624, and a life member of the American Ex-POW Association.
He was a volunteer firefighter in Pinardville for 41 years and was the founding charter member of the Pinardville Firefighter's Association. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union Local 686, the Hi-Hopes Group, and L'Union St. Jean Baptiste.
Mr. Forcier had been a very active member of the former St. Edmond parish and was presently a member of Parish of the Transfiguration.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 58 years, Rita C. (Pinard) Forcier who died in January of this year. He was also pre-deceased by an infant son Joseph in 1960.
Family members include three sons, Edouard Forcier III of Manchester, Gerald Forcier of So. Thomaston, ME, and Marc Forcier of Goffstown; five daughters, Elaine Jacques of Troy, Ruth Glennon of Manchester, Paulette Gibbons of Bedford, Denise Bergeron and Anita Fortin, both of Manchester; 20 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Jeannette of Jacksonville, FL; many nieces and nephews
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday October 14, 2004 at Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to VA Medical Center, 718 Smyth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104, Easter Seals, 555 Auburn St., Manchester, NH 03103-4800, or to Pinardville Paramedics Association, 18 Church St., Goffstown, NH 03045. Those who wish may make a donation of blood in his memory to the American Red Cross.
