Edouard N. Gardner, 85, of Goffstown died November 7, 2004 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born in Concord on December 23, 1918, he was the son of Georges and Laura (Larochelle) Gardner. He lived in Manchester most of his life.
He worked at Manchester Dairy for 25 years, Radio Cab for 15 years and Aubin Hardware for 10 years.
He and his wife had volunteered with the American Alliance for the Mentally Ill and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill for many years. They both received awards from these organizations for their efforts.
Mr. Gardner was a devoted member of the Pius X Institute of Sherbrooke, Quebec for many years. He was also a longtime communicant of St. Jean the Baptist Church in Manchester.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Reginald Gardner and Gerard Gardner.
The family includes his wife of 56 years, Fernande (Aubin) Gardner of Goffstown; 12 children, Claudette Gelfand of Laconia, Mariette Gardner of Goffstown, Patricia Katsikas of Manchester, Suzanne Fortier of Richford, VT, Denise Bilodeau of Manchester, Claire Bouchard of Weare, Jeanne King, Joseph Gardner and Louise Gardner all of Manchester, George Gardner of Franklin, Richard Gardner of Walpole and Edouard P. Gardner of Manchester; 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three sisters, Theresa Dusseault of Largo, FL, Jeannine Untiet of Goffstown and Sr. Lucille Gardner of Biddeford, ME; three brothers, Norman Gardner of Holiday, FL, Paul Gardner of Manchester and Robert Gardner of Benton, ME; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday November 10, 2004 in Parish of the Transfiguration (formerly St. Jean the Baptist), corner of Kelley and Youville streets, Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
