Edouard A. Gendron, 95, of Manchester died January 31, 2003 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, Manchester after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on March 26, 1907, he was the son of Wilfred and Alphonsine (Demers) Gendron. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
He worked as a meat cutter at Granite State Packing and Ferretti's Supermarkets for many years. He continued working on a part-time basis until the age of 77.
Mr. Gendron was a communicant of St. Jean the Baptist Church where he served as an usher for many years. Known for his positive outlook on life, he enjoyed walking, listening to music and had a great love for his family.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Flore P. (Desautels) Gendron in 1980, a son, Gerard Gendron in 1993 and a granddaughter, Jane Gendron in 1999.
The family includes four children, Claudette Croteau, Cecile G. Gosselin and Paul L. Gendron all of Manchester and Leo A. Gendron of Miami, FL; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Leona Gendron and Flore Coyne both of Manchester; a brother, Laval Gendron of Manchester; several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday February 3, 2003 in Parish of the Transfiguration at St. John the Baptist Church, corner of Kelley and Youville streets, Manchester. Encryptment was in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
