He was born in Manchester, NH on March 30, 1945 and was the son of John and Leonie (Michaud) Bolton and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
He attended St Patrick Grammar school and later graduated from Bishop Bradley High School, class of 1963.
He enlisted in the Marine Corps reserves and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 92 and a 4th degree Knight of Assembly # 626.
He was a regional distributor for the New Hampshire Union Leader and New Hampshire Sunday News
Edward was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, William J. Shanahan Division 1 and a member of the NH Jaycee Senate. He was also a member of the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post No. 2.
An avid golfer, Ed was a former member of Intervale Country Club and a lifelong NY Yankees fan.
Members of his family include his beloved wife of 47 years Diane (Kilroy) Bolton of Manchester; three daughters, Deborah Martinez and her husband David of Manchester, Christine Dambach and her husband Joseph, Kathleen Chartier and her husband Derek, both of Hooksett; a son Edward Bolton Jr. of Manchester; three grandchildren, Sydney, Rhianna and Jack; a sister, Margaret McGettigan of Milford and a brother, John Bolton Jr. of Tuftonboro, NH; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Bolton and a grandson, Luke Dambach.
A Mass of Christian burial took place on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St. Burial followed in the new St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St, Bedford, NH.
