He was born in Manchester on August 9, 1924 to Ernest and Therese (Champagne) Bourque, He lived in Manchester for most of his life.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy as a Radioman 2nd class.
He graduated from New Hampshire College of Accounting and Commerce.
Mr. Bourque worked at Al Ouellette Hammond Organ and several other Manchester area business for many years. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5260 and was a longtime communicant and collector at St. Catherine Church. He was also an avid Ham radio operator.
He was married to Bertha M. (Hall) Bourque who died in 2010.
The family includes four children, Edward Bourque Jr. of Hooksett, Paula Denis and her husband, Francis, of Manchester, Andrew Bourque of Hooksett and Matthew Bourque and his wife, Karen, of Goffstown; five grandchildren, Anne, Dustin, Therese, Gregory and Lydia; three great grandchildren, Emily, Christopher and Isabella; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
