Edward R. Buote Jr., 78, of Manchester died April 6, 2002 at Hanover Hill Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born in Lawrence, MA on June 6, 1923, he was the son of Edward R. and Marie (Poirier) Buote. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. During that time he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Purple Heart and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with Bronze Service Arrowhead Bronze Star Medal.
The family includes his wife of 55 years, Sophie (Wydra) Buote of Manchester; two sons, Russell E. Buote of Epsom and Robert J. Buote of Manchester; two daughters, Betty A. Doyon of Pembroke and Marianne Bilodeau of Manchester; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother, Leo Buote of Manchester; nieces and nephews.
Services were private. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester assisted the family with arrangements.
