Edward C. Grzywacz, Jr., 72, of Bedford, died on July 31, 2021, at Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester on November 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Edward C. and Mildred (Lewandowski) Grzywacz, Sr. He was educated in Manchester, a graduate of Central High School, and attended NH Technical Institute. Ed then served in the Army Reserves in the military police unit. He worked in radio and television communications, starting with NE Telephone and finishing with Fairpoint for 40 years before retiring in 2008. He enjoyed his part-time job at Kohl's, for 10 years, after he retired.
Ed was a golf enthusiast. He was a longtime member of Intervale Country Club, a member of Senior Profile Golfers, and played in the Telephone Co. League, at Candia Woods, on Monday nights. He was also an avid hockey fan and played semi-pro hockey for the Manchester Monarchs in the 1970's. Ed enjoyed watching hockey, baseball and football, mostly New England teams. He had a passion for the outdoors, feeding birds and watching the wildlife outside of his home. Nothing gave Ed more pleasure than coaching his son Todd's athletic teams and later watching him play sports. He never missed a single game.
Ed was a "jack of all trades" who was able to fix anything. He was quiet, kind, humble, honorable and very hard working. Ed would do anything for anyone and was just an all around very good man. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Family members include his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy J. (Keenan) Grzywacz of Bedford; one son, Todd E. Grzywacz of Manchester; one brother, Richard Grzywacz and wife Johnna of Weare; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was predeceased by both parents; and one sister, Janice Lenehan in 2014.
