Edward H. Lee, 80, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022 at Concord Hospital after a long and courageous battle against Parkinson's Disease.
Born in Portland, ME on May 10, 1941, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Howard) Lee. He was a 1959 graduate of Cheverus High School. Ed worked for AT&T while also serving in the US Air Force Reserves for six years before being honorably discharged in 1968 at the rank of Airman Second Class. He then moved with his family to New Hampshire to work for First NH Bank while attending and graduating Manga Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in General Management from New Hampshire College in 1978. After leaving the banking industry, Ed started Lee Fuel Company then eventually worked for and retired from the State of New Hampshire Department of Revenue in 2010. His favorite job was being the best Papa ever!
Ed was an avid golfer his entire life, recording two holes in one at Manchester Country Club where he was a member for more than twenty years. He spent the final years of his golf career at Intervale Country Club. He always had a story to share, was very kind, friendly and outgoing, yet extremely humble. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be terribly missed by all that knew him.
Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Judith A. (Richards) Lee as well as his two brothers, Richard F. Lee and James W. Lee.
Surviving family members include three children, Deborah A. Tremblay and husband Brian of Goffstown, Donna L. Dennis and husband Timon of Weare, and Thomas M. Lee and wife Kari of Manchester; five grandchildren, Heather Finnigan, Daniel Tremblay, Nathan Dennis, Kaitlin Dennis, and Victoria Lee; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary E. Sullivan of S. Portland, ME and Margaret E. Tramontozzi of Ashland, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester, NH 03104. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, March 2 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford, NH 03110. Committal prayers with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford, NH 03110. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: McDonough Scholarship Foundation, 61 North Street Manchester, NH 03104.
The family is forever grateful to the staff at Granite Ledges in Concord for their excellent care, kindness, and support of Ed the past year and a half.
