Edward Leo "Eddie" Lavigne, 62, of Manchester died December 4, 2009 at the Elliot Hospital after a heroic courageous battle with cancer with his family and beloved dog Lefty by his side.

He was born in Manchester on July 3, 1947 the son of Louis P. and Marguerite L. (Marion) Lavigne. He was educated in the local parochial school system and graduated from St. Marie High School. He served in the US Air Force active duty from 1966 to 1967.

He had been employed by Parlex in Methuen, Massachusetts for over 35 years prior to his illness.

Eddie enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and loved spending time tending to his tomato garden. He was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots who above all else, loved spending time with his family and dog Lefty.

Members of his family include his brother, the Rev. Maurice D. Lavigne of Rye, NH; three sisters, Suzanne P. Therrien, Diane A. Lavigne, and Jeannette Plumpton and her husband Drew, all of Manchester; one aunt, Irene Fournier of Manchester; one nephew, Gary Therrien of Manchester; 3 nieces, Katie, Meghan, and Jennifer Plumpton, all of Manchester; one great-nephew, Noah Hall-Plumpton of Manchester; many cousins and dear friends from his Glen Forest Drive neighborhood.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, December 7, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church, So. Main St, Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
