Edward F. McGonagle, 74, died February 1, 2022. Ed was born in Malden, MA on March 28, 1947 to James and Martha (Dunphy) McGonagle. He moved to Hudson in 1981 where he and his wife, Mary Beth, raised two daughters, Carrie and Kate.
Prior to his retirement, Ed worked as a network manager for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He had a longstanding history with the lottery always hoping for the big one. He loved to fish and could sit on a cold rock in the winter for hours waiting for a shot at a deer. His soul was comforted by those he loved most, his daughters when they were together and also as unique individuals who made his world more complete with their lives. Laughter brought tears and more laughter.
He was predeceased by his sister, Catherine R. Roome and nephew, Jeffrey Leo Roome.
Edward is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Beth (Brown) McGonagle of Bedford; two daughters Carrie M. Perry and her husband, BJ, and Kathryn E. Coulombe and her husband, Cameron, and niece Michele Alukonis (Roome). He was a proud Grandpa and Papa to Elliot Perry and Bridgette Coulombe.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.elliotperry.org as a part of the ongoing project for developing adaptive playgrounds for the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
