He was born in Methuen, MA on July 20, 1945 to Edward G. and Blanche (Beaulieu) Poirier Sr. He lived in the Manchester area for many years.
During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Poirier worked at Anheuser Busch in Merrimack for 30 years and was a member of the Teamsters Local 633. In retirement, he volunteered at Catholic Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester.
He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, boating and spending time with his granddaughter, Avery.
The family includes two daughters, Jessica Austin and her husband, Brent, of Barrington and Jennifer Poirier of New York, NY; a granddaughter, Avery Austin of Barrington; his mother, Blanche (Beaulieu) Poirier of Flagler Beach, FL; a brother, Ronald Poirier of Nashua; a sister, Nancy Poirier of Ormond Beach, FL; his companion, Brenda Andriski of Hooksett; and cousins and two nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, April 13, 2012 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
