Edward O. Richard Jr., 72, of Manchester, died July 14, 2005 at the Catholic Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born in Haverhill, MA on January 26, 1933, the son of Edward O. and Jane (Dale) Richard. He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester High School West. He served in the US Army.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed by New Hampshire Medical Laboratories.
Mr. Richard was active in his community. He was a former umpire, concession head, and Board Member for Manchester Southwest Little League. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and spent time volunteering at St. Benedict Academy. He loved to fish, hunt, travel, and support his grandchildren at various sporting events.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford.
Members of his family include his wife of 45 years, Charlotte L. (St. Onge) Richard of Manchester; one son, Marc Edward Richard and his wife Marie of Penacook, NH; one daughter, Monique Richard-Ruth of Manchester; four grandchildren, Michael Edward Richard, Justyn Thomas Richard, Brianna Ruth, and Mikhaila Ruth; four nephews, Ronald Roy, Norman Roy, William Roy, and David Roy; a niece, Diane Lanctot; many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Seton Church on Monday July 18, 2005. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
