Edward L. Turcotte, 56, of Bedford, NH died October 15, 2001 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH after a brief battle with brain cancer.
Born in Norwich, CT, on August 23, 1945, he was the son of John and Mary (Hughes) Turcotte. He grew up in Leominster, MA and later lived in Westminster, MA, Fitchburg, MA, and Barrington, IL before moving to Bedford in 1994.
Mr. Turcotte worked as a manufacturing consultant. Throughout his career he worked in Massachusetts at Simon Saw and Steel, Data General, Bose Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation; and David W. Bukar in Antioch, IL. For the past five years he continued consulting privately as Edward L. Turcotte and Associates in Bedford.
As a consultant, he traveled to England, Malasia, Mexico, Canada and Australia. He also helped coordinate study missions for Digital Equipment Corporation in Japan. He spoke at many seminars and conferences on the topics of manufacturing quality, inventory control, and production management.
Mr. Turcotte was certified at the Fellow level by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), and was a Certified Quality Engineer. He was a member of APICS and St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford, NH.
He enjoyed skiing, weightlifting, woodworking, wine collecting and planting Christmas trees.
The family includes his wife of 11 years, Sharon E. Oikelmus of Bedford, NH; two sons, Michael J. Turcotte of Eliot, ME and Patrick J. Turcotte of Cape Coral, FL; four daughters, Sandy J. Turcotte-Lim of Holliston, MA, Cindy L. Turcotte of Arlington, VA, Barbara N. Fenwick of Round Rock, TX and Anna S. Turcotte of Bedford, NH; five grandchildren; his father of Billerica, MA; a brother, Patrick Turcotte of Georgia; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were Thursday October 18, 2001 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester, NH. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday October 19, 2001 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford, NH. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford, NH.
