Elaine C. Burleigh

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Elaine C. Burleigh, 71, who died August 23, 2023 in her home surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with COPD.

Elaine was born on September 23, 1951 in Manchester, NH to Roger A. and Rita C. (Groulx) Lacroix.  As a lifelong resident of Manchester, she was a graduate of Manchester Central High School, and also attended Hesser College.

Elaine was a retiree of ADP where she worked as a payroll specialist for most of her 20 + year career.  In her lifetime, Elaine devoted herself to charitable acts of kindness, for the Parish of the Transfiguration, where she worked in the food pantry delivering gifts to the less fortunate and helping at the parish fairs.  These were just a few of the ways she served her community.

Elaine devoted her life to her family. Her biggest joys in life were spending time with her loved ones. Over the years, her selflessness to others was one of her greatest attributes. Her humor, smile and spirit will be dearly missed.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Burleigh in 2010; and her daughter, Shannon M. Rose in 2022.

 
She was survived by her granddaughter, Sophia Rose of Sandown, NH; her brother, Leonard Lacroix of NC; her sisters, Janet Andrus of Hillsborough, NH; Linda Doherty of Valdosta, GA; Claudette Billodeau of Manchester, NH, Teresa Gladu of Allenstown, NH, and Jacqueline Grant of Manchester, NH; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.  She was also predeceased by both parents; and her brothers, Donald Lacroix & Paul Lacroix.

SERVICES:  Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Parish of the Transfiguration, located at the corner of Youville and Kelley Streets, Manchester, NH.  Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, NH.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association at https://www.lung.org
