She was born in Manchester on November 3, 1922, the daughter of Bernard H. and Georgia A. Lund. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester High School Central.
Prior to retirement, she had been a supervisor in the accounting department of NH Insurance Co.
Eleanor loved to travel, read, and spend time with her great-grandchildren. She was a volunteer at the Elliot Hospital and up until her illness, was active in a bowling league at Lakeside Lanes.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Catherine Church.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Tardiff in 1990 and one son, Bernard A. Tardiff in 1972.
Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Donald J. and Debbye L. Tardiff of Pembroke; two grandchildren, Allyson Tardiff Hicks and her husband Matthew Hicks of Concord, Andrew Tardiff and his companion Shannon Cosma of Hooksett; two great-granddaughters, Pheobe and Eve Hicks; one sister, Hazel Turcotte of Hooksett; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in St. Catherine of Siena Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock Sts. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St, Bedford, NH.
