Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Walton) Smith

Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Walton) Smith, 97, of Manchester died peacefully October 10, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Allston, MA on November 2, 1923, she was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Walton. She graduated from Brighton High School. Prior to raising her family, she had worked for the New England Telephone Company in Boston for several years.
After marrying Richard I. Smith, she moved to Manchester, NH where she had resided for the last 72 years. She was a loving wife and mother of eight children, grandmother to seventeen, and great grandmother to nine.
Betty was devoted to her Catholic Faith and was an active communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
She treasured being outdoors with nature while gardening, walking, biking, skiing, and swimming at Happy Hampton Beach.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard I. Smith in 2010 and a daughter, Colleen in 1995.
Family members include her children, Richard and Lynda of Newmarket, Michele of Manchester, Lesley and Harry Bobolas of Hampton, Gary of Hampton Beach, Stephanie and William Kurz of Sunnyvale, CA, Tara and Kenneth Olson of Portsmouth, Kimberley and Gregg Lemerise of Hampton; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces.
Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, will be Sunday, October 17th from 1 to 4 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at noon in St. Catherine Church, 207 Hemlock St, corner of Webster St, Manchester. Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester. Masks are respectfully requested.
