Ellen E. Wickham, 94, died July 26, 2022, at CMC, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Morristown, NJ on September 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Helen R. (Byrnes) McErlane. She was a graduate of Bayley Ellard High School and earned her nursing degree from All Souls Hospital in Morristown, NJ. She worked as a hospital nurse for many years as well as in doctors’ offices.
Ellen was a proud breast cancer survivor. She was a very kind, caring and social person who made friends everywhere that she went. She made fine needlepoint pieces that hang in places of honor in the homes of grateful family members. Also, there are a number of people walking around Manchester, NH, in the colder months sporting knitted hats in bright colors that she made and donated. She enjoyed cooking and loved challenges in the kitchen with new recipes. Ellen was very family oriented and time spent with her family was what she enjoyed most. Above all else, she will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Ellen was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert J. Wickham, Sr. in 2006.
Surviving family members include five children, James J. Wickham, Sr. and wife Valerie of Manchester, Barbara E. Anderson and husband James of Fryeburg, ME, Lea Ann Bourlon and husband Rick of Thonotosassa, FL, Mary Jean Wakefield of Hebron, CT, and Robert J.
