Ellen P. (Belisle) (Doucet) McCarthy, 96, of Bedford, died June 13, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

She was born in Hooksett on June 1, 1922 to Noel and Beatrice (Bothwick) Belisle. She lived in Bedford for most of her life.

Ellen worked as a pastry chef for many years at The Yard Restaurant in Manchester where she was well known for her mud pie and peanut butter pie. She was a talented seamstress, artist and gardener. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Roger Doucet in 1975; her second husband, Maurice McCarthy in 1983; and two siblings, Walter Belisle and Gladys Baker.

The family includes five children, Pamela Carrara and husband, Anthony, of Holliston, MA, Patricia Mailloux and husband, Richard, of Laconia, Ronald Doucet and wife, Joyce, of Londonderry, Randall Doucet and wife, Deborah, of North Conway and Peggy Astarita and husband, James, of Bedford; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Bouchard and Joan Pigeon both of Manchester; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Private burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
