Elynore K. Bartlett

Elynore K. (Dowd) Bartlett, 92, of Bedford, died August 13, 2017 at Community Hospice House, Merrimack after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on July 12, 1925 to James and Ellen (Skinner) Dowd. She graduated from Simmons College in Boston and lived in Manchester for most of her life before moving to Bedford in 1997.
Elynore worked for many years at the Youth Development Center and as the Deputy City Clerk for the city of Manchester from where she retired.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, James W. Bartlett, in 1997 and by her brother, James Dowd.
The family includes four children, James C. Bartlett and his wife, Charlene, of Alexandria, VA, Jonathan Bartlett and Lisa Bean, of Manchester, Elisabeth Danault of Hooksett and Geoffrey Bartlett of Center Barnstead; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one nephew.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Catholic Medical Center and the staff at Community Hospice House for the compassionate care they provided to Elynore and her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Committal prayers followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Rd., Manchester, NH 03102.
