Born in Manchester on May 16, 1932, he was the son of Joseph and Emerentienne (Gagnon) Bussiere. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and then attended St. Anselm College. He earned his LLB at Boston College and graduated from Boston College Law School in 1954.
Mr. Bussiere had his own law practice in Manchester for many years. He was selected by the New Hampshire Superior Court to be Hillsborough County Attorney from 1962 to 1968. He also ran for Governor of New Hampshire in 1968.
IN HIS LIFE: In 1979, he was appointed to serve as a member of the President's Export Council. He was inducted into the American Association of Trial Lawyers in 1989.
He will be most remembered as a loving husband, father and friend.
The family includes his beloved wife of 39 years, Joan H. (Blais) Bussiere of Manchester; five children, Jacqueline M. Bussiere Burke of Alexandria, VA, Emile R. Bussiere Jr. of Portsmouth, Denice J. Bussiere of Manchester, Michelle J. Marshall of Winchester, MA and Christine E. Bussiere of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Auguste Burke, Callahan Burke, Jack Bussiere, Reid Burke, Finn Bussiere, Emerencienne Marshall and Sage Bussiere; two sisters, Madeleine Keaveney of Manchester and Gilbeth Spencer of Somers, CT; a brother, Robert Bussiere of Manchester; cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, November 1, 2008 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
