Born in Holyoke, MA on February 27, 1922, she was the daughter of Arthur and Emilienne (Roy) Archambault. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1942, pronounced her first vows in 1945 and made her final vows in 1950.
She earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Rivier College, Nashua, NH, and later continued studies in advanced mathematics at Boston College and Rhode Island College.
Sr. Emilienne Marie had exceptional competence as an educator in mathematics. She spent 65 years teaching math and secretarial science at Presentation of Mary High Schools in New Hampshire. Well into her retirement, she tutored Junior High students with expertise, compassion and a sense of joy in the accomplishments of every student.
The family includes four sisters, Sr. Ste. Marie Luce, PM of Hudson, NH, Lucienne Pollender and Jeannette Labonte both of Chicopee, MA, and Rina Gaughn of Hampton, NH; a brother, Ernest Archambault of Chicopee, MA; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, December 14, 2009 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, NH was in charge of arrangements.
