She was born in Manchester on January 31, 1924, the daughter of George and Floresca (Savoy) Gregoire. Emma was educated at St. George's School and was a lifelong resident of Manchester. She worked as an electronics inspector for many years and was a volunteer caregiver at Hillsborough County Nusing Home.
Emma was a member of St. Anne Solidarity, Dame de St. Onne and Third Order of St. Francis. She was described as very giving and caring person, a "sweetheart". She was non judgmental and saw the goodness in every person. Emma would help everyone and was extremely positive. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Henry A. Dufresne, in 2002.
Family members include her daughter, Denise Herbert and her husband Stephen of Manchester; granddaughter, Kelly Sandstrom of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Alice Gregoire, Irene St. Onge and Bertha Bouchard; and two brothers, George and Henry Gregoire.
A memorial mass took place on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Committal prayers followed in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
