Eric T. Somerset

Eric T. Somerset, 53, of Hooksett, NH left this world far too soon on January 16, 2023 at the Elliot Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. 

Eric was born June 10, 1969 to Oscar Somerset and Norma (Winship) Somerset. He grew up the oldest of 3 siblings and loved to tell everyone all the fun and crazy stories they encountered growing up. Soon after graduating high school, he met the love of his life, Maurita (Taylor) Somerset. Eric and Maurita’s love grew strong and fast and on August 27, 1995 they vowed to love each other for all of time and forever be each others “person”. Together, they raised 4 beautiful children and most recently were able to see their two grandchildren grow. 

Eric was most notably known around Southern NH for owning and operating The Somerset Grille Food Truck. Together with his wife, mother, mother-in-law, niece Diana, and many other helpful family members, the big blue truck was known quite well at various food truck festivals, parties, Livingston Park, and even the Deerfield Fair one year. Cooking was Eric’s passion. He worked at several well known restaurants, until he opened his own business. Over the years, he used cooking and baking as an outlet and loved to challenge himself to make anything and everything he could think of. Eric most recently spent the last several years working at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Manchester as head of their kitchen. 

Eric will be remembered by his family and friends as a caring father, loving husband, and sarcastic friend. The more sarcastic he was to you, the more he cared. 

Eric is survived by his soulmate, best friend, and wife Maurita (Taylor) Somerset, children Joseph Somerset and his wife April, Jacob Somerset and his fiancé Shayla, and Allison Somerset and her boyfriend Matthew. Eric also leaves behind his two beautiful grandchildren, Forrest James and Scout Jes, father Oscar Somerset, mother Norma Somerset, mother-in-law Maurita Taylor, siblings Deborah Blais and her husband Marc, Bill Somerset and his wife Crystal, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Eric was predeceased by his youngest son, Jonathan Somerset in August 2022. Their family can only hope that Eric and Jonathan have reunited in the Kingdom of God and will forever watch over everyone with loving and protecting arms. 

There are no calling hours.  A Service of Remembrance will take place at 11:00 am on Sunday, January 22nd at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, corner of North Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
