Ernest C. Holley, 92, of Manchester died December 29, 2002 at Villa Crest Retirement Center after a brief illness.
Born in Webster, MA on February 8, 1910, he was the son of Christopher and Josephine (Cunningham) Holley. His family moved to Manchester in the early 1920's and he attended local schools.
Mr. Holley worked at J.F. McElwain Shoe Company in Manchester for many years and retired in 1972.
From the mid 1940's to the early 1950's, he was active with the Boy Scouts Troop 110 of the Daniel Webster Council. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and was a member of the League of 1000 Men of The Precious Blood.
He enjoyed reading and all sports. He also enjoyed attending Easter Seals Adult Day Care in Manchester.
He was predeceased by his wife, Germaine A. (Desilets) Holley in 1985; two brothers, Frederick and George Desilets and a sister, Therese Mullen.
The family includes his son and daughter in law, Eugene and Sylvia Holley of Bedford; two grandsons and their wives, Christopher and Cathy Holley of Raleigh, NC and Jonathan and Sarah Holley of North Prairie, WI; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday January 2, 2003 in St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester assisted the family with arrangements.
