Ernest R. Philibert, 82, of Bedford died June 3, 2005 at his residence after a long illness.
Born in Weare on January 7, 1923, he was the son of Arthur and Angeline (Halle) Philibert. He was a lifelong resident of Bedford.
During World War II and the Korean War he served in the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion in Bedford.
Mr. Philibert worked for many years with the State of New Hampshire Highway Department, the Bedford Highway Department and the Water Center in Bedford.
He enjoyed fishing, bird watching and time spent with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by four children, Ernest R. Philibert Jr., James Philibert, Alfred Philibert and George Philibert.
The family includes his wife of 58 years, Florence M. (Dion) Philibert of Bedford; two sons, Richard A. Philibert of Manchester and Robert B. Philibert of Goffstown; six daughters, Jeannette M. Philibert of Canada, Doris Gottier of Bedford, Irene Docos and Linda Turner both of Manchester, Beverly Belanger of Allenstown and Julie Jernigan of Manchester; 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; three sisters, Jeannette Vigneault of Goffstown and Rita Desmarais and Antoinette Powers both of Manchester; a brother, Paul Philibert of Wentworth; cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday June 7, 2005 in Sacred Heart Church, 223 So. Main St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. After cremation, burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
