Esther Cousens

Esther (Labrie) Cousens, 89, of Manchester, died October 22, 2006, at Catholic Medical Center, with all her family by her side.

She was born in Manchester on April 12, 1917, and was the daughter of Euclide Labrie and Laura Cure (Champagne) Labrie. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, and a member of the ladies guild.

Esther attended local schools, later moving to New Jersey where she worked for Johnson and Johnson. After a short time, she and her husband moved to Raymond NH and opened Sansouci's Lunch. Esther and her husband we're the stewards of the former Belgium Club. For fifteen years Esther worked as a cashier for the Temple Food Mart, in South Manchester.

She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and spoiling her family, and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In Her Life: Family members include; a daughter, Celeste and her husband Robert Allard, of Manchester; 2 sons, David and his wife Janet (Bedard) Sansouci, of Ashland, Thomas and his wife Colleen (Brady) Sansouci, of Manchester; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; nieces, and a nephew, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Francis Sansouci, in 1971, and by her second husband Arthur Cousens in 1993.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday October 26, 2006 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St. Manchester.

Burial followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond NH.

Memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry of Blessed Sacrament Parish, 14 Elm St. Manchester.
