Evangeline Statires

Evangeline Statires, 85, "Vange" of Manchester, died July 27, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Manchester on November 22, 1935, she was the daughter of Arthur and Kountilou (Ziakaris) Kouskoutas. She was educated in the Manchester school system, attending Central High School.

Prior to retirement, she had worked in a variety of positions for Jordan Marsh (most recently Macy's) in Bedford for over 35 years.
Evangeline enjoyed trips with her husband to the racetrack and local casinos. She loved spending time at the beach and was very involved within the St. George Greek Orthodox community as a member of the Anagenisis Lady's Society and a longtime volunteer for the parish's Glendi Festival. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Charles Statires in 2013.

Family members include her children, Diana Lianos of Manchester; Kathryn Statires Basoukas and husband Darren of Bedford, Stephen Statires and wife Sonia of Hampton; her grandchildren, Scott Lianos and wife Jacqueline, Tim Lianos, Michael Lianos, Kyle Basoukas, Charlie Statires, Jacob Statires and Nathan Statires; two great-grandsons, Jack and George Lianos.

There will be no public calling hours. The funeral service will be Monday, August 2nd at 10 am in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
