Evelyn P. McGinnin

Evelyn P. (Gonet) McGinnin, 88, of Litchfield, earned her angel wings on February 24, 2017 at her home , surrounded by her loved ones, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Manchester on June 5, 1928 to Matt and Mary (Stacz) Gonet. She lived in Manchester for many years before moving to Litchfield to live with her daughter 32 years ago.

Evelyn was an administrative assistant at Easter Seals in Manchester for 52 years and was known as "Milly's Cookie Lady". She was well respected and loved by those she worked with. During those years she had made many stuffed bears for children who were in need of a smile.

She also enjoyed painting, making personal greeting cards and crafting costumes for special occasions.

The family includes a daughter, Sally Bouchard and her husband, Ron, of Litchfield; a granddaughter, Ronisa Hannon and her husband, John, of Manchester; a great grandson, Hunter Hannon; and a lifelong family friend, Monika Bryant of Manchester.

She was predeceased by her beloved dog, Tucker.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Burial will be in St. Hedwig Cemetery in Bedford at the convenience of the family.
