Fernand A. St. Hilaire

Fernand A. St.Hilaire, 86, of Manchester, died May 31, 2023, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in La Patrie, PQ, Canada on June 1, 1936, he was the son of the late Henri and Eduilda (Picard) St. Hilaire.  He was educated in Canada and moved to New Hampshire in 1961.  Fernand worked as a factory worker at Chicopee Mills, as a baker with Genest’s Bakery, as a plumber with several plumbing companies and finished his career with CB Plumbing & Heating, a company formally owned by his oldest son Rocky.

Fernand enjoyed cooking, was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens, enjoyed camping, dancing with his wife, but spending time with his family is what gave him the most joy in his life.  He was humble, kind, considerate, and a great provider.  Fernand had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.  Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Fernand was one of thirteen siblings.  Surviving family members include his beloved wife of 66 years, Jocelyne (Rouillard) St. Hilaire; seven children, Rocky St. Hilaire and wife Debbie of Merrimack, Rene St. Hilaire and wife Karen of South Carolina, Helene Ayotte of Manchester, Linda Winchenbaugh of Manchester, Francis St. Hilaire and wife Celestia of Manchester, Carole Bowley and husband Oscar of Manchester, and Ken Greenley of Manchester; many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. 

SERVICES:  A Service of Remembrance will begin promptly at 2:30 pm on Saturday, with a time for gathering and reflection from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester, NH 03104.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to:  National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33^rd St., New York, NY 10016-5337.
