She was born in Sorel, Quebec October 14, 1919 and was raised in Montreal. She was the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Dufault) Cournoyer. She had been a Manchester resident most of her life.
She had worked as a seamstress and quality control inspector at Pandora Industries for many years.
Flore was a member of the Sodality of St. Anne.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rene G. Fortin, who died in 1982 and by a son, Robert Fortin, who died in 2007.
Her wonderful cooking brought family members together during special events and holidays. She was also an excellent seamstress, making custom clothing for her family and herself. Above all, she enjoyed time spent with her family.
IN HER LIFE: Family members include three sons, Denis Fortin and his wife, Diane, of Weare, Guy Fortin and his wife, JoAnn, of Goffstown, and Normand Fortin of Manchester; 9 grandchildren, Renee, Christopher, Chantelle, Aimee, Allison, Collette, Haley, Emily and Stephen; 2 great grandchildren, Kennedy-Lynn and Kinsley; a sister, Simone Cournoyer of Montreal, Canada; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at St. Anne-St. Augustin Church, 382 Beech St., Manchester.
