Florian J. Bouchard, 97, of formerly of Bedford, in the home that he built himself, died October 29, 2016, at Hillborough County Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Quebec, Canada on April 13, 1919, the fifth of eight children, to Leonard and Hermeneige (Daneault) Bouchard. He married his beloved wife, Martha (Parker) Bouchard on July 29, 1940.
Florian attended local schools in Manchester and worked for 20 years as a pharmaceutical transporter at Elliot Hospital before retiring in 1982. He was active in the Army and Air Force National Guard. He was also a member of the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department.
Florian was a welder, mechanic, loved to work with his hands, had an interest in CB, and home renovations. He was a fulltime "tinkerer". Florian had a good sense of humor and was a very funny man. He was always very congenial and loved to make people laugh. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was predeceased by his wife Martha in 2008, son Richard Bouchard in 1994, and daughter Pamela Bouchard in 2013.
Family includes two daughters, Judith Descheneau and partner Bob Dubreuil of Manchester, and Martha Descheneau and husband Armand of Bedford; six grandchildren, Mark, Wayne, and Troy Descheneau, Brenda Cronin, Brian Descheneau, and Seth Bouchard; and five great grandchildren.
A committal service was held on Friday, November 4, 2016 in the chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Bedford Fire Dept., 55 Constitutional Dr., Ste. 2, Bedford, NH 03110.
