Francis X. Fraitzl

Francis X. Fraitzl Jr, 75, of Bedford, NH, passed peacefully on March 22, 2017 surrounded by his family after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on September 23, 1941, he was the son of Francis X. and Mary (Paul) Fraitzl. He attended Manchester West High School, class of 1959 and graduated St. Anselm College, Class of 1964. Shortly after graduating from Saint Anselm, he returned to the College and eventually retired as the Director of Financial Aid after 36 years of service. While at the College, he was a longtime member of the colleges Knights of Columbus serving as their financial director. He was also a founding member of the St. Elizabeth Seton Knights of Columbus Council 12988.
His "Paradise" was at Newfound Lake and taking family/friends on long, slow boat rides around the lake. He spent many days fishing the lake and enjoying its precious sunsets. When his sons were younger, he coached Little League baseball. Frank was a founding member of and active at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, where he taught CCD, was a member of the Parish Council and the first Eucharistic Minister for the parish. For those who knew him, Frank was a man of few words but a heart of immeasurable depth. Heavily opposed by family, Frank was a diehard Yankees fan in Red Sox country.
Above all else, Frank will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Joyce (Hoffmann) Fraitzl of Bedford; three sons, Francis X. Fraitzl, III and his wife Lisa of Bedford, John Fraitzl and wife Dawna of Bedford, Paul Fraitzl and wife Christina of Bedford; his grandchildren, Heidi, Hannah, Mackenzie, Madison, Morgan, Nikolaus, Ethan, Taylor, and Connor; his brother-in-law, Patrick Hoffmann of Manchester; sister-in-law, Muriel Boisjolie of Manchester; Niece Jill Hoffmann; Nephew Eric Hoffmann; several cousins and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Anselm Abbey Church. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to Home, Health & Hospice, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054. The family wishes to extend their greatest thanks to the Home, Health and Hospice caretakers who so lovingly took care of Frank for the last one and a half years of his life.
