Francis X. Gamlin, 72, of Dunbarton, died on October 3, 2018 at CRNVA Hospice House in Concord, after a period of declining health.
He was born in Worcester MA on January 23, 1946 to Wilfred and Margaret (McDiarmid) Gamlin and was educated in Manchester.
After graduation Fran enlisted and honorably served in the Air National Guard. He spent his career as a carpenter at St. Anselm College before retirement in the Spring of 2015.
Fran enjoyed "Grampy Fran's Workshop" in his basement, the Red Sox and Patriots, listening to oldies and country music, making name-trains for newborns, giving tractor rides to his grandchildren, and loved his Springer Spaniels Clyde and Damon.
He was predeceased by his brother Paul Gamlin.
The family includes his beloved wife of 26 years Aline (Lemay) Gamlin of Dunbarton, his son Stephen Gamlin and his wife Tina of Weare, daughter Christine Gamlin of Carrollton TX, stepsons David Bieniek and wife Roxanne of Rochester and Jeffrey Bieniek and his wife Melanie of Epsom, brother Gerald Gamlin of Tewksbury MA, sister Joan McMahon of Manchester; stepmom Priscilla Gamlin of Derry, his first wife Evelyn Friedrich and her husband Hank of Pembroke, and his best friend of 40+ years Delmont Albert. In addition, Fran enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Hannah, Sarah, Brock and Kylie.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in the Chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester.
