Francis O. Lanouette, 89, of Bedford died August 30, 2006 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack.
He was born on December 22, 1916 in Manchester to Gaston J. and Jane (Reau) Lanouette. He graduated from St. Joseph High School, Manchester.
He Married Eileen (Manning) Lanouette on December 30.1942.
A decorated WWII veteran, he served in the US Army Air Corps as a Bombardier, flying 52 combat missions in the south Pacific theatre. He was honorably discharge at the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Upon his return from the service, Mr. Lanouette, in partnership with his father, opened Kimball and Brown Moving and Storage Company which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1978.
A member of many civic organizations, Mr. Lanouette belonged to the New Hampshire Truck Owners Organization and the Elks Club. He also was past president of the Exchange Club of Manchester and a trustee of the Manchester Boys and Girls Club.
An avid golfer Mr. Lanouette was a lifelong member of the Manchester Country Club.
A loving husband and devoted father, Mr. Lanouette was predeceased by his wife, his sister Arlene Bournival and his niece, Jane Rexenes.
He is survived by his daughters Judith Lanouette Nicholson and her husband Morris of Merrimack, Mary Frances Lanouette of Medford, MA. and Jane Reau Lanouette of Boston, MA; his grandson, Matthew Lanouette Nicholson of Merrimack; nephews, Sonny Bruce and Chuck Bournival and nieces, Susan Harlan and Camille Katao.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday September 2, 2006 in the church. Committal prayers followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
