Born in Concord on February 15, 1948, she was the daughter of Eugene P. Spaulding Sr. and Mary Jane Cox. She grew up in Penacook and attended Penacook schools. She then lived in Pembroke many years before moving to Manchester 25 years ago.
While living in Pembroke, she operated a day care center and was a cake decorator.
She later worked for Shaw's Supermarkets for many years. She had been a Girl Scout Leader.
She leaves her husband of 12 years, Roger G. Simard of Manchester; four children, Richard A. Drew Jr. and his wife, Joni, of Epsom, Jeffrey A. Drew and his wife, Shelley, of Pembroke, Steven Drew of Manchester and Julie Nagle and her husband, Ronald, of Franklin; two step children, Pamela J. Cooksey and her husband, Ronald, of Pennsville, NJ and Mark A. Simard and his wife, Linda, of Pembroke; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; her father, Eugene P. Spaulding Sr. of Bedford, and her mother, Mary Jane (Cox) Rousseau of Concord; two brothers, Eugene P. Spaulding Jr. of Salisbury and Cary Spaulding of Derry; two sisters, Rebecca A. Colby of Henniker and Brenda Fifield of Newport; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Parish of the Transfiguration, corner of Kelley and Youville streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
