He was born in Manchester on December 27, 1923 to Edeas and Marion (Vien) Benoit. He lived in Manchester for most of his life.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Benoit worked as an electrician at Catholic Medical Center for many years.
He enjoyed re-finishing furniture and antiques and playing cribbage and golf. He was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was married to Marie Jeanne (LeClerc) Benoit, who died in 2010. He was also predeceased by a sister, Lucille LaFrance.
The family includes five children, Lien Brent Dilernia and Gerard Benoit both of San Francisco, CA, Elaine Smith of Manchester, Evelyn DeRocher of Port St. Lucie, FL and Paul Benoit of Hooksett; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
