George J. Blushiy, 72, of Manchester died December 26, 2006 at Elliot Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 10, 1934, he was the son of George and Mary (Gustas) Blushiy. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
During the Korean War he served in the US Navy.
Mr. Blushiy worked as an importer and exporter with Import Leather of Exeter for many years. He also worked at Rapid Car Wash in Manchester for many years.
He enjoyed hockey and was a longtime season ticket holder of the Manchester Monarchs.
The family includes his wife of 31 years, Lorraine (Paradis) Blushiy of Manchester; four children, Dawn Shearer, Lynda Savage, Gregory Murphy and Melissa Robinson all of Manchester; nine grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Lyons of Manchester; cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday December 29, 2006 at St. Joseph Cathedral, corner of Pine and Lowell streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
