He was born on January 11, 1924, the son of Albert and Helena (Parenteau) Bouchard.
During WWII, he earned a purple heart for his service in the 24th Infantry in the Philippines.
George was a life-long resident of Manchester who retired from the US Postal Service in 1993. Prior to that, he had been employed at Prudential Insurance for 12 years and also worked as a real estate broker for many years.
George was a member of the American Legion, Sweeney Post #2. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, vacationing with his wife of 60 years, and spending time with his family.
In his life: He was predeceased by his brothers Roger in 1969, Armand in January 2007, and Dr. Ernest (Mac) Bouchard in April of 2007.
George is survived by his wife Lorraine (Miville) Bouchard; one sister, Doris Therrien; daughters, Constance Pinard, Sylvia O'Reilly, Jacqueline Leafe, Eloise Jardine, Janice Filter, and Lynne Tierney; one son, Donald Bouchard; seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Saturday September 15, 2007 in the funeral home chapel. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
